dc.description.abstract Among the many economic activities conducted on the world market, the companies transfer has also become a business. To accommodate ongoing economic developments, the European Union and Member States had to create legislation applicable to these economic realities. The need to adopt legal norms lies in the requirement that the legislator has to ensure social protection and eliminating abuse and discrimination from employers. Thus, had appeared laws both in the common law of the European Union and in each country's own legislation, governing the employee rights and the obligations of both transferor employer and transferee employer. In Romania, Council Directive 2001/23 / EC was transposed into national law by Law no. 67/2006, which regulates the protection of employees' rights in case of transfer of the undertaking, unit or parts thereof. At the same time, provisions concerning employees' rights in the event of transfer of the undertaking are also included in the Labour Code. en_US
